Reading Habits

Imagen
My reading habits have declined quite a bit over the years. In school my mom read the books to me until I was like 11, so I had a hard time encouraging myself to read on my own but I never did that bad on the book tests. By the time I got out of high school I was able to choose my books.  I was a Monster High fan so I had all their books, but the first book that totally got me was "Asylum" by Madeline Roux. My mom bought it for me in Bariloche, for a study trip. I was captivated by his photographs, many of them were edited, but they looked very realistic, like a "found footage" movie. It is a 7 books saga (4 books and 3 smaller books which contains additional information). Madeleine is my favorite author, and the best thing is that I have 3 of these books autographed by her. The last book I read was "cuando temblamos" which is about 6 stories that take place in Patagonia. In general it is like a psychological triller because all the characters have very st...

CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME

It's hilarious to talk about this issue because since I entered the university I've been witnessing strikes and sit-ins, mostly due to structural failures. Some of this problems may seem ridiculous because they are basic things for the proper functioning of an educational center, but unfortunately they are real facts. Just a month ago we went on strike in response to the return to classes. 1-. Many employees work  with Fee slip, which is not strange, the problem arises when they've not been paid for months. In addition, there are professors who have been working in this way for more than 15 years and the university refuses to hire them. To make matters worse, if you want to be hired, you must enter a kind of contest where professors show their presentations and the winner is hired. 2-. The university does not have sanitary implements to resume classes. 3-.workshops continue to have problems such as lack of tools or tool malfunctions. 4-. It doesn't comply with safety r...

A Journey to the Past

Imagen
If there was a possibility to travel in time it would be to the past. I couldn't specify a date but it would be around the XI-XV century and I'd like to travel through several countries, but specifically Europe and Asia. Because I've always been very interested in their mythological creatures.  For example. When we talk about centaurs we have the idea that they were born from the imagination of the natives when they saw others people riding horse. The unicorns on the other hand are said to be narwhals and I'd seen illustrations of "hippocampus", which were horses with fins. But curiously, there were horses with a protuberance on the head, although it was not very big. What would it be like in the case of dragons? What kind of animal could have inspired this? Many of these beings have in common that they are seen in more than one culture, such as the European dragon that was more similar to a dinosaur with wings versus the Asian dragon that was more similar to ...

My future job

Imagen
I'm currently studying 4th year of plastic arts at Universidad de Chile. I was supposed to get a specialization in goldsmithing if I did the thesis next year, but I decided not to do it to devote myself to what I am good at. To I decided to become a fursuitmaker. Besides I don't want to continue studying or do a master. I think I will only pay the sewing courses, epoxy resin work and 3D modeling. I have made the decision to dedicate myself to fursuits making, to live from cons and commissions. basically to be independent. It is not just something I see in the future, since it is a decision already taken and to which I already dedicate myself but in less time, next year this will be full time. For the cons I will make animal ears and tails, some keychains, maybe embroidery and also plan to bring some furhead as an exhibition.  I know it will be hard work but I'm very anxious to start with this project of opening my online store. I don't know how much I will travel, bec...

Arte

Imagen
It is hilarious to talk about this topic because I study arts and I consider myself an artist, but not the conventional kind of artist that many people may know. Since I was a child I've always liked to draw. it was something that always was present in my life since my parents studied graphic design. so yes, you could say that my love for drawing and the arts runs through my veins. Also My mother loves going to the museum, and thats why I know quite a few exhibitions, especially from my career. I specialize in digital illustration and fursuitmaking (which consists of making anthropomorphic animals costumes). both related to the furry community as you can see in the next images. I love animation, whether in a movie or in animated TV series, this is also art so it's something I have always enjoyed. My dad and I always looking for new series with more elaborated designs or with more artistic liberties. I have never been related to art made of human parts. I have had college mate...

The best concert I have ever been to was the concert of "one ok rock" I went with my dad and had a great time. It was about 9 years ago at the dome theater in Parque O’Higgings The venue was smaller compared to other concerts I've been to, so it was quite close to the stage and there were also spectacular acoustics. One ok rock is a Japanese alternative rock band and I honestly didn't know there was such a big community of fans in Chile, I never thought they would come, since not many Asian bands come to the country, especially at that time. One of the things I liked the most was that my dad also enjoyed the concert, I remember he told me that the drummer played excellent and that the band had a good rhythm. I remember I took my camera, recorded several songs and took a lot of pictures, my arms were very sore because my camera was heavy hahaha. At the time the lead singer of the band was my platonic love so to have him so close was amazing; to hear him sing, to see h...

Unforgettable memories

Imagen
When I hear the songs of Mazapán and Cachureos. It takes me back to the moments when my mother sang to me or when I was brushing my teeth to the rhythm of "lávate los dientes" I've always love holidays, especially Christmas and Halloween. I can almost remember what I did on all of those dates. I remember the Christmas when I got my first bicycle. I was about 6 years old and remember that i imagined the I saw Santa clos in the sky (really a child's imagination is very vivid). And To this day there is not a single Halloween that I don't spend with my childhood friend, we have always loved to dress up, go out trick-or-treating and watch horror movies. It has become a tradition to get together to eat and watch movies. I learned to swim un a poll when I was a little girl (in fact it was almost by instinct). Although I still have memories of those moments when I almost got drowned haha. I've always loved playing in the street. I used to play with younger kids and ...
